OPT OUT OF
PRESCREENED CREDIT OFFERS

When you apply for a mortgage or other loan, a lender pulls a hard credit inquiry. The three national credit bureaus then sell your contact information to other lenders, which lets them know that you are looking for new credit. These are called “trigger leads”. We don’t sell your contact information to other lenders, but unfortunately we cannot stop the credit bureaus from doing so. This can result in you receiving dozens of calls, texts, and emails from other lenders trying to win your business. While advocates of trigger leads say they provide more choices to the consumer, most people find it to be confusing and annoying to be contacted with unsolicited offers.

To opt out of trigger leads, go to www.optoutprescreen.com, which is the official Consumer Credit Reporting Industry website to opt out of firm offers for credit electronically for five years. Please opt out as soon as possible if you would like to avoid receiving these unsolicited offers. When possible, we like to wait 5-7 business days after you opt out before we pull a hard credit inquiry so your opt out has time to be processed.

If you change your mind in the future, you can opt back in through the same website.
